Does University Park require a permit for a porta potty?
A University Park block party permit costs $50 and must be filed at least 3 working days ahead. The rules say nothing may sit in the street unless it can be quickly removed, and the street must stay open to emergency vehicles. So place a block party porta potty on a driveway or lawn, never in the street.
University Park's block party application must be filed "at least three (3) working days in advance" with the Traffic Division, and the fee is $50 from October 1, 2025. Nothing may sit in the street unless it can be "quickly and easily removed," and the street must stay open to emergency vehicles. That means a porta potty for a block party belongs on a driveway or lawn, not in the street. Source: University Park block party application.

What should University Park renters know about access and timing?
University Park covers only 3.69 square miles, with homes on tight lots and rear alleys. Many rebuilds place the job site porta potty at the alley side of the lot. Tell us if parking is restricted on your block, and plan delivery away from SMU game days when streets fill with cars.
Which unit fits your University Park job?
Most University Park job sites and remodels use a standard porta potty, which fits a 4-foot gate. Parties use deluxe flushing units with sinks. Public events need at least 1 wheelchair-accessible unit per cluster, and weddings with power often choose a restroom trailer. Add a hand wash station wherever food is served.
