Does my Irving event need a permit for porta potties?
An Irving event needs a special event permit when portable toilets go on public property, the street is closed, or stages or tents go on public land. Irving Code Chapter 33B requires the preliminary application at least 90 days before the event, with a $375 fee and a $250 late fee inside 90 days.
Permitted events must meet Irving's minimum toilet counts in §33B-14(a) and place 1 hand wash station within 20 feet for every 4 toilets. Organizers also need $2,000,000 in commercial general liability insurance (§33B-8). Read the code at ecode360: Irving Chapter 33B and get the special event permit application (PDF). A party on your own private property usually does not need this permit.
| Daily attendance | 1 hour | 4 hours | 8 hours | 10 hours |

| Up to 50 | 1 | 1 | 2 | 2 |
| 101–250 | 2 | 3 | 6 | 8 |
| 251–500 | 3 | 5 | 7 | 8 |

How should porta potties be laid out at an event?
Lay out event porta potties in clusters of 4 to 10 units near food and drinks but at least 50 feet from serving tables. Put 1 wheelchair-accessible unit in every cluster on a firm, level path. Face doors away from seating. Leave a clear lane so our truck can reach every unit for service.
- Place clusters where guests naturally walk, such as between the parking area and the main stage.
- Add lighting for events after dark.
- For multi-day events, plan a service visit each night after the crowd leaves.
Irving event spaces where renters use our units
Renters often use our units for events at city spaces that allow outdoor setups, such as Heritage Park on South Main Street and the Levy Event Plaza on East Las Colinas Boulevard. Each venue sets its own rules on placement and delivery hours, so check with the venue before we schedule.

Special Event Restrooms: questions we hear
Should I get more units if alcohol is served?
Yes. Add 1 unit for every 4 on the chart. Drinking increases restroom visits, and Irving's code lets the city ask for more units when alcohol is served.
Can the units be serviced during my event?
Yes, for long or multi-day events. We schedule a pump-and-restock visit at a quiet time, such as early morning.
Do I need a hand wash station?
If food is served, yes. On Irving permitted events, 1 station per 4 toilets is required.
What if it rains?
Units are fine in rain. Pick a spot that does not flood, and tell us if the access path turns soft.
Can you deliver on Saturday?
Weekend delivery can be scheduled ahead, based on crew availability. Most weekend events get Friday delivery.
